About Greenland Nursery
Located at 3852 W Ford Rd, Philadelphia, PA 19131, Greenland Nursery operates as a government serving Philadelphia in Pennsylvania. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.
This group covers the other places gardeners shop and the businesses that turned up next to garden centers on the map: gift and home decor stores, pet and grocery stores with seasonal plants, craft and antique shops, and local services that do not fit a gardening category. Supermarkets and home stores are useful for a quick bag of potting soil or a pot of herbs; a nursery is the better choice for advice and plants suited to your yard.

Philadelphia is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Philadelphia follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

I have lived in Philadelphia all my life and have walked this path for many years. I never knew the Nursery was a part of Greenland Mansion. Right near Ford Road, great path with great views and awesome on a chilly day

NOT OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. This nursery is operated by the City of Philadelphia's Parks and Recreation department and grows native trees, shrubs, grasses and forbs for ecological restoration work in city parks in Philadelphia. It does not sell plants and is not open to the public. It provides a great service to the city in the collection of local native plant genetics and the propogation and distribution of those plants for the restoration of natural park spaces. NO PLANTS FOR SALE.
